Makeup artist education

with special effect and theatre make-up

If you dream of becoming a makeup artist, you can now secure a place on our creative and professional training programme in Copenhagen. Here you will learn the many different techniques you need to master as a professional makeup artist. Among other things, you will learn about different skin types, morphology and various preparations. As a professional makeup artist, you must be able to apply many different types of makeup. In addition to learning how to apply a beautiful makeup, find the right colors or how to correct, you will also go through training modules that teach you techniques to apply makeup for fashion, film, TV and theater.

As a big part of the training, you will learn how to apply everything from the natural makeup to the more extravagant gala and show makeup, where the strong colors and shades are the focus. As a makeup artist for photo shoots, it is also important to learn about the specific makeup technique for color and black and white images. In addition, you will also learn about makeup for commercial and portrait photography.

When making special effects for movies, the makeup artist is the one who makes the gory wounds or the scary masks. Of course, you will also learn this in our makeup artist training. You will go through a module where you learn how to cast masks, which are also frequently used for film productions. Here we work with alginate mixtures, plaster, silicone and latex. There is therefore plenty of opportunity to develop your creative skills in this particular field.

Read more about the different modules below and register for the make-up artist course. Please contact us if you have any questions about our makeup training, the possibilities and the course.

All modules (except mask production), end with a practical exam, where you are assessed on your creativity and precision. These exam marks will form part of your overall annual grade, combined with your professional development throughout the course. Marks are awarded according to the 12-point scale.

When you train at Art of Style and Makeup, you go through a carefully planned course, where theory and practical training are combined optimally. In this way we ensure that you learn as much as possible about all the many facets of the profession. To become a skilled stylist and makeup artist, you need to know a lot, but you also need time to translate knowledge into practical experience.
In order to give you the best job opportunities after graduation, the school is very helpful with training jobs during your training, so you get both practical experience and a unique network in TV, film, theatre and the fashion and beauty industry..

You will receive both a Danish and an English diploma as well as an international diploma when you complete your training with us.
